Prasong Luemuang

PRASONG LUEMUANG (b. 1962)

Prasong Luemuang creates paintings rooted in Lanna culture, rural life, personal experience, and Buddhist philosophy. Moving freely between figurative and abstract forms, he combines expressive lines, vivid colours, human figures, animals, and symbolic imagery to form an intuitive visual language shaped by memory and contemplation.

As an artist connected to Number 1 Gallery’s formative years, he presented Retrospective in 2006, followed by Prasong Luemuang 2007 and the group exhibition Bare in 2008. These exhibitions form part of the gallery’s early history and its engagement with significant voices in Thai contemporary art.

ประสงค์ ลือเมือง สร้างสรรค์จิตรกรรมจากรากวัฒนธรรมล้านนา วิถีชีวิตชนบท ประสบการณ์ส่วนตัว และพุทธปรัชญา ผลงานเคลื่อนไหวอย่างอิสระระหว่างรูปธรรมกับนามธรรม โดยใช้เส้น สีสด รูปคน สัตว์ และสัญลักษณ์ต่าง ๆ ก่อเกิดเป็นภาษาทางศิลปะที่เชื่อมโยงความทรงจำกับการพิจารณาภายใน

ในฐานะศิลปินที่เชื่อมโยงกับช่วงก่อร่างของ Number 1 Gallery เขาจัดแสดง Retrospective ในปี พ.ศ. 2549 ตามด้วย Prasong Luemuang 2007 และนิทรรศการกลุ่ม Bare ในปี พ.ศ. 2551 นิทรรศการเหล่านี้จึงเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของประวัติศาสตร์ยุคแรกและบทบาทของแกลเลอรีในการนำเสนอศิลปะร่วมสมัยไทย
