Rachata Siriyakul

RACHATA SIRIYAKUL (b. 1993)

Rachata Siriyakul was born in Thailand in 1993. He received a Diploma in Fine Arts with Best Performance from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore, in 2015. He subsequently trained at the School of John Angel in Florence, Italy, and studied under the supervision of Norwegian painter Odd Nerdrum in 2018.

Working primarily with oil on linen, Rachata draws upon classical European figurative painting and the layered methods of the Venetian Renaissance. Through gradual applications of colour, glazing, tonal depth, and repeated revision, he constructs atmospheric scenes drawn from mythology, history, religion, and literature. Figures emerge from shadowed environments in which beauty, violence, mortality, faith, and human conflict coexist.

In The Opposite Route to Celestial Light (2022) and Since the Time Immemorial (2023), both presented at Number 1 Gallery, Rachata reconsidered inherited narratives through a contemporary psychological perspective. His works have subsequently been presented by the gallery at Hotel Art Fair and Art Busan, while his portraiture was selected for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries, London, in 2026.

รชต ศิริยกุล (เกิด พ.ศ. 2536)

รชต ศิริยกุล เกิดในประเทศไทยเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2536 สำเร็จประกาศนียบัตรด้านวิจิตรศิลป์ พร้อมรางวัลผลการเรียนดีเด่น จาก Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts ประเทศสิงคโปร์ เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2558 หลังจากนั้น เขาฝึกฝนจิตรกรรมที่ School of John Angel เมืองฟลอเรนซ์ ประเทศอิตาลี และศึกษาภายใต้การดูแลของอ็อด เนอร์ดรัม ศิลปินชาวนอร์เวย์ เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2561

รชต สร้างสรรค์จิตรกรรมสีน้ำมันบนผ้าลินิน โดยสืบทอดแนวทางจิตรกรรมรูปคนแบบคลาสสิกของยุโรปและกระบวนการเขียนภาพหลายชั้นจากยุคฟื้นฟูศิลปวิทยาเวนิส เขาค่อย ๆ สร้างสี ความโปร่งลึก น้ำหนักแสงเงา และปรับแก้องค์ประกอบอย่างต่อเนื่อง เพื่อถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวจากเทพปกรณัม ประวัติศาสตร์ ศาสนา และวรรณกรรม ตัวละครปรากฏขึ้นท่ามกลางบรรยากาศมืดสลัว ซึ่งความงาม ความรุนแรง ความตาย ศรัทธา และความขัดแย้งของมนุษย์ดำรงอยู่ร่วมกัน

ในนิทรรศการ The Opposite Route to Celestial Light เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2565 และ Since the Time Immemorial เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2566 ซึ่งจัดแสดงที่ Number 1 Gallery รัชตัศน์นำเรื่องเล่าที่สืบทอดจากอดีตกลับมาพิจารณาผ่านมุมมองทางจิตวิทยาร่วมสมัย ผลงานของเขายังได้รับการนำเสนอโดยแกลเลอรีใน Hotel Art Fair และ Art Busan ก่อนที่ผลงานภาพบุคคลจะได้รับคัดเลือกเข้าร่วม Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition ณ Mall Galleries กรุงลอนดอน เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2569
